Travel + Leisure and The European Travel Commission Bring Europop to NYC

Style 1 Media On June 5th, Travel + Leisure magazine teamed up with The European Travel Commission (ETC) to bring the best of Europe to the Big Apple in the inaugural, one-night-only EUROPOP event. The event brought together sights, tastes, sounds, and products from more than twenty European destinations including Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Flanders, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Monaco, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey. Offering authentic food tastings of European specialties, live entertainment, and travel information, EUROPOP provided inspiration and information for travelers considering a trip to Europe. Strolling from booth to booth, guests chatted with representatives from Sweden while sampling Swedish meatballs, learned about Hungary while savoring Hungarian goulash soup, and investigated destinations in Germany while enjoying German Black Forest cake. Event sponsors Ruffino Wines and Ultimat Vodka provided libations, online retailer Shop L-atitude offered international wares for sale, and American Airlines hosted an information booth and seating area for guests.

Speakers for the evening included Travel + Leisure Vice President/Publisher, Jay Meyer; ETC US Operations Group Chairperson, Eugenio Magnani; ETC President, Peter de Wilde; and Travel + Leisure Senior Editor, Jacqueline Gifford. Opera singer Neil Darling entertained guests with his powerhouse voice before and after the speakers' remarks.

All in all, Travel + Leisure and The European Travel Commission provided guests with a delightful taste of the attractions of European travel.
