Style 1 Media The ultimate art brunch experience during Art Basel Miami Beach is the high profile annual Sagamore Hotel Art Basel Miami Brunch, now in its 11th year as a "not-to-be-missed" event. The food is delicious, the event is elegant, the people fabulous, and the artwork stunning. Known as the Art Hotel, the Sagamore was opened in 2001 by Martin and Cricket Taplin, and houses the prestigious Cricket Taplin Collection of contemporary art. The hotel lobby, stairwells, suites, gardens, lounges, and public areas are decorated with paintings, photographs, murals, sculpture, and video works. The weather was all that could be desired by guests, including ABC's Good Morning America weather anchor, Sam Champion, who attended the brunch. The 2012 Brunch lived up to expectations. Artists, designers, celebrities, collectors, curators, gallerists, and fashionistas, mingled in the hotel lobby, lounges, and pool area. Guests enjoyed luscious sweet and savory crepes--handmade and cooked on the spot, and a wide assortment of fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, juices, and champagne. Free-flowing mimosas and the opportunity to bask in the sun on poolside chaise lounges eased the transition from last night's party to the day of art viewing ahead.
