DIFFA Cocktails by Design Event Launches Annual Dining By Design Tour

Style 1 Media On March 20th, DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS welcomed guests to the 2014 Cocktails by Design launch event for its 17th Annual Dining By Design Tour. The New York leg of the tour, held in conjunction with the Architectural Digest Home Show at Pier 94, featured world-class dining environments designed by international and local talents. Guests enjoyed gourmet food and drink from celebrated New York City restaurants and national beverage sponsors, and had the opportunity to bid on luxury items at the silent auction. Sensational Umbria through the Lens of Photographer Steve McCurry

Style 1 Media Sensational Umbria, a spectacular photo exhibit by renowned National Geographic and Magnum photographer, Steve McCurry, opened on November 7th at New York's Italian Trade Commission. The exhibit features vibrant large format prints selected from a body of 100 photos commissioned by the Italian Region of Umbria. McCurry's images capture Umbria's landscapes, art and architecture, industry and products, food and wine, tourist attractions, and the lives of inhabitants. Italian Trade Commissioner, Pier Paolo Celeste introduced the show, along with Consul General of Italy in New York, Natalia Quintavalle, and President of Umbria, Catiuscia Marini. The Infinity Awards were inaugurated in 1985 to bring public attention to outstanding achievements in photography by both seasoned professionals with distinguished careers and emerging luminaries. The Awards are ICP’s primary fund-raising event, supporting the full range of its programs, including exhibitions, education, collections, and community outreach. This year's event drew a mixture of collectors, philanthropists, photographers, artists, writers, media, and other professionals. New York 1 News Anchor Cheryl Wills co-hosted the spectacular event with Mary Carillo, Sports Analyst for CBS, HBO Sports, NBC, and the Tennis Channel. The "black tie & sneakers" event brings together sports celebrities, medical professionals, academic leaders, public figures, and others who support the legacy of tennis champion and humanitarian, Arthur Ashe, who founded the Institute prior to his death in 1993. The gala, which raises funds for critical health empowerment programs in urban minority communities, honors significant contributions by individuals who further its mission.
